Different people have different views on topic of prayer.

For some,

Prayer is a conversation with God.

Prayer is seeking God; especially when one is desperately in need

Prayer is a routine order

Prayer is a relief from mental stress

Prayer gives hope

It goes on and on. Ask anyone on the street and they will gives you different perspective on prayer. As a Christian, I asked myself this same question almost every moment. What is a prayer?

For me, Prayer is having an intimate conversation with God (Building a relationship, rapport, knowing God more) and a given authority to me by God, asking/allowing God to intervene in my life and to intercede for others.

Prayers requires faith because you're praying to a God who is unseen, placing all your burdens, needs, wants, desires, thoughts, job, family; all of you to God. Believing that things will works well and for the good for those who loves God.

It's so simple to pray. Infact, anyone can pray but knowing how to pray according to the will of God, selfless prayer. That requires alot more consistent prayer life, teaching, discipline and most important, humility.

Isaiah 55: 8-9, Romans 8:28, 31

8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.
9 "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. [ Isaiah 55:8-9]

So what is God's ways and thoughts then? Being someone who is logical, I can never fathom the depth of God's ways and thoughts. In fact, no one does. It doesn't really matters whether am I too logical, someone stupid or intellectual, with high IQ or not. We won't be able to understand many things that are falling in place or things we are going through now till the day God chose to reveal to us. If I could spend time thinking of the many possibilities in life, shouldn't I wait till God reveal to me? When out of the many possibilities I could think of, there is only one possible answer. A wonderful plan that God had prepared for me.

11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. [Jeremiah 29:11]

Since last week, when I started to dedicate many of my time just to pray. God spoke to me alot. As I prayed, I could feel the presence of God so strongly. I began to reflect on many things in life.

- So what's about my calling? What can I do to prepare for that big vision I've seen?

- My families salvation? how can I start to share? what can I do? How should I pray then? How can I break many of the negative thoughts, traditional thinking, ways, habits?

- In my work now, how can I share the Gospel? What can I do other then pray? Initiative, how should I go about it? How can I built a deeper rapport with my colleagues?

- Should I study for a degree? What degree then? Arts and social science which I think could have help me later on? Degree in electronics which could help me in my work now?

- Other than prayers, few Msn chat, smses, what can I do as a leader that my sheeps will turn back to God? How do I teach?

- For Adult cell, how can the word of God reach deeply into their hearts? What can motivate them to read more of God's words? How can they share more of their life testimony? How can they be more revived in the Spirit of God?

- For the Church, how can strong help the weak to grow in faith, love and hope?

- It is important that I pray for a helper in my life. So how can I pray then?

These are some questions that I started to reflect while I prayed to God. It's really amazing how God leads and guide me along the way. I know many of what I should do, right thing to do of course. Some things I know that it requires me alot of courage to step in faith and just do it. I'm slowly beginning to understand the words that Bro Daniel Seet and Sister Mary( who told me to do the right things, 1 year back] and Bro Eric who had given me Romans 8:28 through God.

28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,[a] who[b] have been called according to his purpose. [Romans 8:28]

31What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? [Romans 8:31-32]

By doing the right things in life, I know that many of the sacrifices I will make, jibes from people I will see and persecutions I will face. But it doesn't really matters to me, for I know that Jesus gave it all. So if God is for me, who can be against me?

Tool's storeman!

I'm in toolstore yesterday night. Taking care of all the tools. Well, tools store is busy during booking in/out of tools only so I got lots of time in between! How to spend wisely then? I read a book, drew up plan of the goals in my life, make new friends from other trade and pray! Praise the Lord! I get to know a friend who was once a christian, time to share!

Upon doing my reflection. I began to reflect on the 3 visions God shown me over 4 years in Renewal.

- I saw myself sitting on my current sofa in my home. In front of me are a group of young kids 5-7? I'm holding a bible then, teaching the word of God.

- I saw myself on stage in renewal (Wearing white long sleeve shirt and black pant), preaching the word of God

- Now, a much bigger crowd then the 大圣殿 in korea. I'm preaching the word of God much boldly, with authority and confidently.

My faith has grown much more. I see bigger things and I'm going to be used by God to do bigger things (Jer 33:3)

Psalms 37:4 has been a verse I'm holding on this week. Delight in the Lord and the Lord shall give you the desires of your heart.

I'm encourged and really appreciated a message of encouragement yesterday from verse 1 chronicles 16:11. Thank you much much!

Hectic week!

Time for detachment equals time for more work! This week has been a busy week for my flight. Lots of checks and rectifications needed to be done. Learnt quite alot though these few days. Oh well, it's the experiences that count. It is so so tiring. Reached home today at 0445 hrs. Yes, 04.45am! Had wasted lots of time. We scoured the seat 2 days ago just to look for a debris that drop in the seat! Gosh... and yesterday we had to rectify a problem from 4 pm till 4am! Busy Busy Busy week! So what is it again later!?

It was really sweet and nice of my granny! Few days ago, I just told her that I got a weight drop (78 to 74) even though I haven't been excercising! So out of concern and love from her, she made soup for me over the past few days! She kept saying " 来,快吃。我煮了猪肝汤。补血。冷了不好吃!”She had to kept asking me to drink the soup because I'll procrastinate when it comes to food. Lazy bum. Haha. Love ya much much granny!

Great weekends!

Woo hoo! Had a great weekends! Went to Sihui's house for a small gathering and stayed over night. Good time of interaction with my dear brothers and sisters, not forgetting the delicious shooms spaghetti Eric cooked for us! Just felt that it was really a warm and homely invitation by Sihui! Thank You! May the Lord bless you when you welcome gathering at your home!

Had a wonderful worship during teen's service yesterday. I was engaged in worshiping the Lord! I love singing praises to God! A short teaching from Esther on topic of Forgiveness. Good illustrations and game. Praise the Lord! We had a new soon-to-be member, Daryl! Ha. Blessed time. Yes, I just felt that it was a blessed time by the Lord during our cell yesterday. Had a good time crapping, updating from each other, sharing of personal experience(s) and of course emphasising and giving ideas on how to reconcile a relationship; be it family members or friends. Though I was tired, very tired infact but I still went out with my brothers. Just a simple meal but it's the frostering of relationship that I cared about. Same thing, I had a good time with my brothers.

Great time today with my cell today! A big thank you to you Est! *Applause* Ha. You just shown a generous side of your's by treating cell a meal at TCC because of your birthday! Taboo taboo taboo. Ha. A whole day of Taboo card games! I saw a better bonding between the cell! Well, just a small R&R for the cell before examination. Do hoped everyone enjoyed today! Cheers!

Love starts in a family!

I've been doing some personal reflection over the past 2 days especially after the 2040 sermon from my SP and of course after the birthday celebration. Family. Love. Salvations. Perhaps it's time I should make a change.

Love of God will definitely flows into my family.

This coming season. A season of Love and giving. I'll see wonderful things that gonna happen in my family! and I gonna make it happen.

06 September 2008

Went for flag day yesterday. Had quite a fun time asking for donation. It's only through this kind of activity that I got to meet different kind of people! Yes! All kind of people. Some pretended and just sway away, some acted as if they wanted to donate but not!, worst still... some asked lot of questions but no action at all! Of course there were some kind hearted and encouraging souls around. Not many but may God bless them for each of their small and big donations.

After 2040 service. Some of us went for Esther's 21st birthday. I think many have a fun time there mingled with friends, playing 'dong chark' game, taking photos. Perhaps it's the first time that I went to a 21st birthday party. Well, I felt that it was really a heart warming celebration as I see lots of her relatives and close friends celebrating her 21st birthday with her. It seems like " Hey girl! We've all come to celebration this important day! A day you're grown from a young girl to an adult, a woman! Woo hoo! " No happening things like throwing the birthday person into the pool or drinking till you get hang over next day or doing other crazy things. Nope. Just a simple gathering, thanksgiving from a simple heart and simple photos taking. When I saw her taking photos with her family. There were lots of reflections in me then. I felt that it was so heart warming. A very blessed time. Blessed family.

Rhema

Words of the Lord is Rhema to me when I read daily bread just now.

Do Your Best And Leave The Rest
ODB RADIO: Listen Now DownloadREAD: 1 Thessalonians 5:14-24
He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it. —1 Thessalonians 5:24

Have you at some time found yourself under extreme pressure? Have there been episodes in your life when you were so burdened by tasks and responsibilities that there was simply no breathing space to prepare for your service to God?

That was the experience of a pastor by the name of A. J. Gossip. During one hectic week, he didn’t have his customary amount of time to prepare his sermon. As he walked to his pulpit that Sunday morning, he felt guilty about the scanty sermon notes in his hand. It seemed that the Lord was asking him, “Is this the best you could do for Me this week?” And Gossip honestly replied, “Yes, Lord, it is my best.” He told a friend later that Jesus took that ill-prepared piece of work and in His hands “it became a trumpet” to his congregation.

The apostle Paul encouraged the Thessalonians to give their all for God (1 Thess. 5:14-22). They were to exhort, warn, comfort, rejoice, pray, and express their gratitude to God—among other things. We too should always do our best in our Christian life and service. But when pressure-periods come and we just don’t have the time we feel we need, we should do the best we can and then prayerfully trust God’s faithfulness (v.24). — Vernon C. Grounds

Give of your best to the Master,
Give Him first place in your heart;
Give Him first place in your service,
Consecrate every part. —Grose

Be faithful—and leave the results to God.

While I'm reading the daily bread just now. I think and reflect at the same time. Especially, my week. Yes, there were worship, praise and prayers. But have I done enough? Enough in doing but not enough in listening. Thank God for the revelation.
